Of course she hurt herself

When she didn't have a voice

She had to scream somehow

That anger, the guilt,

The feeling of senselessness.

All her energy, strength, bitterness

Silently burning her from inside.

There is only so much she can take

When she's made to understand,

And not to be understood.

Completely drowned in pain

Wish she knew how to swim

So she could hold her own hand,

And save herself from drowning.

In the depths of hell

She learnt who she was,

Strongest soul of them all,

Picked herself up each day

From the deep, burning pits of misery

She grew up to change, change

Her nightmares into her dreams.
