My thirteen hour long nap is interrupted as a ray of golden sunshine hits my eyes. “I’m so sure mum drew open the curtains to wake me up,” I think to myself as I slowly get out of bed and get dressed for the day. The clock says it is 6 o’clock, but I’ve been asleep for so long that I’m not sure whether it’s 6 a.m. or 6 p.m. After getting dressed, I slowly head to the kitchen to make myself a sandwich since that’s the only acceptable food for all three meals, and I’m not sure which one it is. I peep my head out of the kitchen while my bread slices heat up in the toaster, to see the rest of my family on the balcony, keenly staring at a gaggle of geese in the lake beside our building. I grab my sandwich and head to my study table to work on my numerous unfinished assignments. As per usual, I get distracted and sit scrolling through Instagram instead. I notice that all the memes have changed from being Halloween related to being Christmas related, and I check the date on my phone. It says it’s November 1st, but if I’m being honest, it really feels like it’s March 215th.
