A Scrapbook of Feelings

A scrapbook of feelings. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if everyone had one? So much easier than just saying things out loud. I’d definitely prefer it, I convey things far better when I write than when I speak.

When I speak, it’s a muddle, too fast, too rushed, too excited and all over the place. There’s exclamations and hand gestures, struggling to hold onto thoughts.

But if I could write it all, how much easier would it be?

Imagine waking up on your birthday and everything people feel for you is compiled into a scrapbook. Pictures, stories and memories.

Years pass, and you look back at the scrapbooks that you’ve accumulated over the years, your own and the ones you’ve received. Each page you flip brings up forgotten instances and perfect days, each carefully written or carelessly scrawled note has its own worth.

You turn the worn pages, smoothing over the words, and you smile softly to yourself, lost in the haze of beautiful memories.
