TRIGGER WARNING: SELF-HARM
She still gazed at the bruises,
The ones that she won’t ever forget.
What makes it worse is that her own blood caused them
She has clawed at her skin,
Picked at her hair, only to make them go away.
Her mind made her believe that she deserved it,
She deserved the damn pain
Whereas she does not, she never did.
She never hated herself more.
She was 7 and a kid,
A small little child who didn’t deserve this,
But maybe she did.
No one knew how tough it was for her,
To explain all those invisible marks to a stranger.
