Confessions of love

Mittens and midnight

Steam from the mug caressing our cheeks

Chocolate-brown eyes boring into mine

Melting my heart like the chocolate in our cups

Mistletoe and moonlight

Hearts beating wild with the tremor of unsaid words

Now bare hands enclosing mine, still mittened

Stretching my lips into a giddy smile

Cold lips and confessions

Teenage passions blurring sense of space

Warmth from lips brushing against mine

Urgency and softness nudging to fill the void of words

Candid smiles and caresses

Frenzied feelings tumbling out of mouths in a rush

Eyes brimming with happiness, mirroring mine

Reminiscent of our freshly shared confessions of love.
