You were one of the first characters whom I didn’t like in the MCU, because Steve was always meandering around you. I didn’t like the way you were on screen together (I know it sounds very gross and dumb, but that’s what millions of Steve Rogers girl fans do ;))
But as your character evolved, I began to slowly fall for your character and attitude. You were that strong iron pillar without which S.H.I.E.L.D would have never functioned properly.
When you said “I know my value. Anyone else’s opinion doesn’t really matter”, I felt that. When you said “Nobody’s perfect”, I realized that you just preached the best of things. You lost your brother and the love of your life, but you still stayed strong- you still stayed a true woman, leaving all your scars behind.
You taught me to stay true to myself- to always stay strong. You taught me that no matter what the world thinks about me, I should still keep my head held high. You taught me resilience, honesty, modesty; and the most important thing you taught me was that “All we can do is our best, and sometimes the best we can do is start over”, and for that I am grateful.
