She rushed into her apartment, went straight to her room and locked the door. “Calm down.” a voice in her head reminded her, as if that would be of any help.
“We’re sorry to inform you, but your mother is no more.”, they had said so easily, neither knowing the impact it would have on her nor the repercussions. Little did they know that her mother was the only one who could calm her down, who would keep her in control.
Stay in control.
In Control. A voice in her head repeated.
That’s when it happened, all of the emotions bottled inside of her, exploded.
She unleashed it all.
A million voices screamed in her head, making her fall to her knees on the cold, damp floor. The sky rumbled, loud noises of thunder erupted in the sky, sparks of lightning clearly visible. The electricity in her building ceased. The power she held made her invincible. The voices in her head kept getting louder and louder, to the point where she thought her head was going to burst. The devil, which she kept hidden well within her, was soon going to emerge. She screamed, and the door flung open.
Aiden came rushing in, completely drenched because of the rain. He saw her on the ground, and immediately went to comfort her when-
“NO!” She instantly yelled while pushing him away, with so much force that the windows cracked deafeningly. “PLEASE GO!” She screamed with so much power that the thunder ruptured throughout the sky, rain falling incessantly. She fell yet again to the ground, her head spinning in frustration as she cried. The voices just didn't seem to stop, but they became faint when he wrapped his hands around her and embraced her in a hug as she kicked, screamed and shivered. He whispered into her ears:
“I’m not going anywhere, no matter how broken you are, no matter how out of control you are, I will always be there. I love you Kie, I love you and I really hope you love me the way I love you.” He confessed.
She was the cause of all the thunderstorms, the cause of all the sad faces on a bright day, the cause of all heartbreaks, the cause of everything bad happening in the world, but even as her tears painted scars all across her face, he still looked at her as if she was the most beautiful human being ever. She had never noticed that until he confessed his love for her.
Her body stopped shaking, his hands were still wrapped around her, never letting go. It was then that she realized that he had brought her back in control of herself, only her mother had ever been able to do that.
“I love you, I love you just the way you love me.” she confessed.
