Massacre

The only sky was full of kites.

All different. All colourful. All united.

The diversity and magnanimity of the kites blended

To make the sky look most beautiful.

It was a blessing of the cosmos!

But alas! This balance so placid,

Soon ceased to be; and

A kite was killed for it was gay,

A kite was killed for it was black,

A kite was killed for it was a feminist,

A kite was killed for it was of a different race,

A kite was killed for it was fat,

A kite was killed for it was trans, and

A kite was killed for it was guilty.

The sky was now hollow and the

Balance was unbalanced.

No kite was left, only strangled strings.

The sky was no more beautiful.
