You don’t see it
The way he marks his territory,
Letting his jealous insecurity shine bright on her skin.
You don’t realise
She’s scared to let go
She interlocks her lonely hand with his.
You can’t judge
For both have been broken
The past has taught them to fear letting go.
Only they can heal each other
For in his arms, she knows she is safe.
Together, no one can ever harm them.
Maybe it’s controlling,
But they are happy, that’s all that matters, doesn’t it?
After all, happiness and comfort is what makes true love
For what’s a little bite if it heals the heart.
