“I feel like you’re hiding something from me”
“Annie, my love, I would never hide anything from you.”
“I’ll tell you what, let’s get dressed, go out to dinner and then get some ice-cream.”
“I’d really like that. Thank you, Sean.”
Dinner was typical date-night dinner. Sean and Annie drove through a McDonalds and ate dinner in the car. Annie’s Spicy Wrap with nuggets, barbecue sauce and a Pepsi; Sean’s double patty burger, fries, and an iced tea. Ice cream was Baskin Robbins. A honey nut crunch and Mississippi Mud for Annie, Cotton candy and Mint for Sean.
“I still cannot stand that combination, you know.”
“Oh, I know. Which is exactly why I love it. I don’t have to share it with you like my fries.”
“Hey, I let you eat my nuggets!”
“Eh, it’s not the same. Speaking of nuggets, will you marry me?”
“Wait, shit, the ring, right. Sorry.” Sean kneeled and pulled out the most beautiful ring Annie had seen in her life.
“Alright you know what? Before I say yes, I have a confession.”
“What?”, said Sean, getting up.
“I’ve been meaning to tell you this for some time. I was scared you wouldn’t take it very well.”
“What is it my love?”
“Well, I have a confession too.”
“I knew that. Okay, back to what we were talking about, Will you marry me Annie?” he said, getting back down on his knees.
“Are you asking me to marry you just because I’m pregnant? And hold up. HOW DID YOU KNOW?”
“You haven’t been drinking. You didn’t even take a sip of the martini last night at the party. And how dumb are you? I’m marrying you because I love you. Again, will you..”
“Yes! YES! YESS!”
“You’ve gone ultrasonic sweetheart, but I love the excitement!”
